In an age where clothing from the 90s is vintage, clothing from the 50s, or even 60s seems ancient. But what kind of vintage clothing were rad, bad rule-breakers wearing in the 60s? Iconic rock legend and guitar god Jimi Hendrix was almost always dressed in vintage clothing, often army and military jackets from the 16th to 19th century. His trademark was a Royal Hussar jacket purchased from“I Was Lord Kitchener’s Valet”, a vintage shop located at 293 Portobello Road, Notting Hill, London. IWLKV was a popular haunt of other 60s rock stars including Mick Jagger, John Lennon, and Pete Townsend. While vintage clothing evolves and moves forward with each decade's fashion trends, it's cool to remember that wearing vintage has always been an expression of individuality and rebellion against the norm. Go on Mr. Businessman, you can't dress like me.
